Tim Walker scored 20 points as the Sault College Cougars took an Ontario Colleges Athletic Association men's basketball cross-town showdown with the Algoma University Thunderbirds Friday night at the George Leach Centre. It was a packed house at the GLC and the host Thunderbirds were into it, trailing just 37-35 at the half. But Sault College showed its strength in the second half in emerging with an 85-72 win that actually flattered the home side. Sault College played without injured guards Robbie Green and Chris Muncaster but still had more than enough for the win. Besides Walker's 20 points, Sean Seivwright added 18 points and Ray Henry contributed 13 for the Cougars, now 4-2. With the loss, Algoma fell to 1-5 in the OCAA West Region. Greg Sirie led the Thunderbirds with 25 points and Jason Trinier added 14.
