Colts cap perfect regular season

Korah picked up a win over Superior Heights on Friday night to finish regular season action in senior high school football with a 6-0 record

The Korah Colts wrapped up regular season action in senior high school football on Friday night and did so with a perfect record.

The Colts used 425 rushing yards to pick up a 16-13 win over Superior Heights at Superior Heights and will take a 6-0 record into the playoffs.

A 72-yard touchdown run by Tyler Brechin late in the fourth quarter lifted the Colts to the win.

With under three minutes to go in the fourth quarter and the Colts trailing 13-9, Brechin broke through for the major.

Mateo Perri kicked three field goals (from 38, 32, and 23 yards) for the Colts

Brechin finished the day with 158 yards rushing on 13 carries. Nik Gervasi chipped in with 83 yards rushing on 11 carries and Tristan O’Flynn had 78 yards rushing on 10 carries.

Defensively for the Colts, Jacob Jurich had six tackles and one assist.

Cooper Laframboise ran for 55 yards on 14 carries for Superior Heights. The veteran back had a three-yard touchdown run for the Steelhawks.

Mitchell DellaVedova had the other touchdown for Superior Heights, running the ball in from 41 yards out.

Defensively for Superior Heights, Nick Roussain had nine tackles. Joe Rosso had seven tackles and four assists. Gabe Spina had six tackles.

Superior Heights will take on St. Mary’s next week in semifinal action with the winner earning a spot in the senior final on Oct. 26 against Korah.

With three teams in the league, the Colts earn a spot directly in the city final thanks to finishing in top spot.
