Colts and Steelhawks play a pair of close games in high school basketball

Superior Heights needed overtime to pick up a win over Korah in senior high school basketball action

A pair of close games highlighted the girl’s high school basketball docket on Tuesday night.

A 17-point performance from Hannah Heimonen helped Superior Heights to a 48-42 overtime win over Korah at Korah on Tuesday night.

Jill Ferguson chipped in with 11 points for the Steelhawks.

Gracie Sloss led Korah with 18 points.

In Tuesday’s other senior game, Mercedes Mazzuca had 21 points as St. Mary’s beat White Pines 55-27.

Mackenzie McBride had 15 points for White Pines.

In junior action, Sadie Grawbarger had 15 points as Superior Heights picked up a narrow 43-40 win over Korah.

Emmalie Alla had 11 points for Superior Heights.

Madalyn Clement had 17 points for Korah while Mikayla Tremblay had 13 points for Korah.

The other junior game saw Samantha Mazzuca scored 11 points as St. Mary’s beat White Pines 35-17.

Elyce Bowman had nine points for White Pines.

The high school basketball schedule continues on Thursday night with games on two fronts.

Superior Heights will host St. Mary’s while Korah will host White Pines in both junior and senior action. The junior games begin at 5:15 p.m. with the senior games to follow at 7 p.m.
