The Bawating Braves evened their record in high school senior division football after outlasting the White Pines Wolverines on Friday night. Joe Oldham added 68 yards on 11 carries while Alex Breton gained 54 yards on nine rushes. Quarterback Andrew Hatten completed three of six passes for 21 yards and a touchdown. Defensively, Matt Gauthier led the Braves with 11.5 tackles and a sack. Drew Craig recorded nine tackles while Kyle Gauthier added four. For White Pines, Matt Premo rushed for 60 yards on 14 carries while quarterback Justin Wensley, replacing injured starter Ryan Maunu, completed eight of 19 passes for 43 yards. Noah Rushon caught six passes for 41 yards. Jeff Doan led the Wolverines defense with 7.5 tackles while Chris Tulloch and Mark Hindermeier recorded 4.5 tackles each. White Pines made a late game attempt to win as their offense started to click. But after a lengthy drive, Jon Turner intercepted a Wensley pass to seal the win for the Braves. The Wolverines had one more shot on offense but ran out of time after marching into Bawating territory. Senior division action continues on Saturday as the Korah Colts battle the St. Basil Saints at 1 p.m. at Rocky DiPietro Field. The two schools also meet in junior play on Saturday at Korah beginning at 10 a.m.
