Rod Bolduc Jr. had his car dialled in by the feature and out ran the field by eight car lengths to win his first late model feature race at Laird International Raceway on Thursday night.

Bolduc, who posted a couple of average results in the heat races, started the feature near the front of the pack and held off the competition for the remainder of the 20 lap race to the chequered flag.

Heyden's Rob Hiiemaa won both late model heat races.

Veteran driver Terry McClelland was absent from the late model field due to a one-week suspension for an altercation in the pits with Sault Star reporter Bill Montague last week. McClelland was black flagged by flagman Mike Huffman for initiating a four-car crash down just feet from the finish line on the final lap.

Rick Ellis suffered extensive damage to his car in the wreck and also did not line up for racing last night.

Elsewhere, John Frigali captured his first feature win in the factory stock division in a 30 lap special. Division leader Jason Praysner won both heats.

Cottage Park, Michigan's Ray Golladay won the pure stock feature while heat races were claimed by the Michigan Sault's Al Odbert III and Barry Glenn. Matt Huber won the Stock four-cylinder feature while Paul Beauchamp won both heats.

Action continues next Thursday night at 7 p.m. at LIR.
