AUC celebrates 3rd annual sports banquet

The Algoma University College Thunderbirds held their third annual athletics banquet on Saturday night with several student-athletes recognized for the efforts in athletics and in the classroom.

Highlighting the evening was the presentation of the athletes of the year honours along with the celebration of the Ontario Colleges Athletic Association (OCAA) gold medal winning team in men's curling.

Scott Seabrook of the men's curling team was selected as the Male Student-Athlete of the Year while Kristan Chaimbrone captured the women's Athlete of the Year award.

Skip Matt Seabrook, Brad Jacobs, Scott Seabrook and Andrew Silk were honoured for their gold medal performance and were recognized for their OCAA team of the week honours.
