The possibility of a return of professional hockey to the twin Saults could happen again next season.

The International Independent Hockey League began play in the Michigan Sault in December but the newly formed league lasted less than a month before folding.

According to the Soo Evening News, Shane Kelly, who owned the Soo City Mavericks, feels that he has gained some knowledge through the IIHL experience that will allow him to successfully form a new league with teams in Michigan and Ontario.

The league could include franchises in both the Canadian Sault and the Michigan Sault.
