Football fans take note. There's another doubleheader on tap for Rocky DiPietro Field on Saturday. At 1 p.m., the Ontario Varsity Football Conference takes to the field as the Sault Sabercats play host to Hamilton. The locals are 1-1, having defeated Guelph at home last Saturday. Sabercats to watch for are running back Josh Gauthier and linebacker Adam Ross, a hard-nosed dirt bag. Quarterback Travis McLean was also exceptional in last week's win over Guelph. Then, at 7 p.m., the Sault Storm takes on Belleville, searching for its first win of the season after a pair of setbacks. The Storm fell to a very-tough Markham team last week but several veterans will make their 2002 Northern Football Conference debuts for the Storm including offensive lineman Jason Biagini, running back Jaysson Piercy, tight end Matti Tucker and safety John Maione. Rookie wide receiver Ron Kelly, a deep threat, will also be in the Storm lineup. He missed last week's game while taking part in the All-Ontario high school track and field meet at Belleville. Kelly and quarterback Tim Higgins form the potential for an exciting air show for the Storm.
