Algoma men, Sault College women pick up soccer splits

It was a busy weekend for the soccer teams both at Algoma and Sault College

The final stretch of the soccer season saw Algoma University on the road in Ontario University Athletics (OUA) action over the weekend while Sault College hosted weekend games in Ontario Colleges Athletic Association (OCAA) play.

The Algoma women’s team dropped a pair of games on the road against McMaster.

On Saturday, the Algoma women dropped a 3-0 before falling 3-1 on Sunday.

Anna Glasgow had the lone goal for Algoma in Sunday’s loss.

The Algoma men picked up a weekend split with McMaster.

After dropping an 8-0 decision on Saturday, goals by Rafael Valentini and Lucas Joel lifted Algoma to a 2-1 win on Sunday.

The Sault College women’s team split games over the weekend at Superior Heights.

After dropping a 4-2 decision to Loyalist College on Saturday, Sault College beat Fleming 2-1.

Taryn Gazankas had both goals against Loyalist.

Alissa Gilmar and Sarah Ferguson scored for Sault College in Sunday’s win over Fleming.

In their lone game of the weekend, the Sault College men played to a 2-2 tie with Fleming on Sunday.

Connor Tait and Aidan McBurney scored for Sault College.
