Algoma Hotel (Queen and Bruce), 7:39 a.m. Wednesday
All that's left now is to clear out the rubble. The Algoma Hotel, where many a glass was raised and many a tear fell in days past, is now a pile of wood and stubble to be bulldozed away in preparation for a new downtown arena.

Algoma Hotel bites the dust
The former Algoma Hotel at Queen and Bruce is being reduced this morning to rubble. Demolition has begun at the site of the old watering-hole, which was taken over by the City for unpaid taxes.
