PUC Distribution advised SooToday.com at 9:05 p.m. that about 50 of its customers along Chambers, Ashgrove and Carlbert from Amber to just west of Denwood will be without power for up to 12 hours while crews repair damage caused by fallen trees.

Major damage reported in West End fire
A fire caused extensive damage to a single-family residence at 113 Cathcart St early his morning. Sault Ste. Marie Fire Services dispatched five trucks to the unoccupied home around 5:30 a.m. Firefighters remained at the location for about two hours.
