A rapidly intensifying low-pressure system will move from the American Midwest early Monday into the Sault Ste. Marie region by Monday night.

This will bring heavy rain, storms, and strong winds to start this work week.  A brief warm spell follows all the active weather and then cooler air moves in to end the week.

Monday will see rain and some storms arrive in the morning hours. This active weather should taper off in the afternoon before redeveloping in the evening with even heavier rain.

Temperatures will climb into the low teens this afternoon and continue to climb tonight as winds increase in speed.

Heavy rain and gusty winds over 50km/h are possible overnight Monday into early Tuesday. 24-hour rainfall amounts could reach 30-55mm by Tuesday morning.  Temperatures will peak in the upper teens after midnight.

Tuesday will bring possible showers followed by clearing skies late in the day. Temperatures will be in the low teens all day.

Wednesday could be the nicest day of the week. Sunshine is expected for most of the day with temperatures climbing into the upper teens.

A mix of sun and cloud ends the week as temperatures fall back towards seasonal values near +10C.
