Workweek Outlook: Much-needed rain on the way

In the first 23 days of may only about 10mm of rain has fallen in the Sault Ste. Marie region. This compares to monthly values of over 60mm for a typical May. This has escalated the risk of wild land fires and turned many lawns brown already.

In the first 23 days of may only about 10mm of rain has fallen in the Sault Ste. Marie region. This compares to monthly values of over 60mm for a typical May.

This has escalated the risk of wild land fires and turned many lawns brown already.

Relief is on the way this week with a chance of rain just about every day in the coming shortened workweek.

Tuesday will start out with sunshine but clouds move in through the day. By the early evening a line of thunderstorms and rain are expected to cross the region.

Possible fog early Wednesday with a mix of sun and cloud all day.

After sunset more rain and possible thunder is likely to move into the region and continue into Thursday morning.

Thursday will be cloudy with an ongoing chance of isolated showers and/or thunder.

Friday should see some early sun but the risk of rain and thunderstorms returns for the evening hours.

Through all of this rain we are likely to see the above normal daytime high to continue in the low to upper 20s all week.
