Workweek Outlook: Historic heat comes to an end

Another record high temperature is expected today

Over this past weekend, the Sault region set new record warm temperatures every day for three consecutive days. Typically we see climate records broken by a few tenths of a degree or even a full degree once in a while.

These last three days did not just beat the previous records; they smashed it by 3-5 degrees. Expect more of this historic heat to continue for the start of this work week before cooler weather returns by mid-week.

Another record high temperature will fall Monday again with daytime highs near 30C. Expect sunshine with a few afternoon clouds. When you figure in the humidity, it will feel more like 35C!

Tuesday will bring one more day of record-breaking heat as temperatures climb into the upper 20s. A cold front arrives late in the day to trigger showers and possible storms after dark.

Wednesday through to the end of the week will see more fall-like temperatures return to the region. Temperatures will be in the teens with the coldest day on Friday. There is the chance of scattered showers late Thursday into Friday morning.

Another warming trend starts this coming weekend with more above normal temperatures next week.
