The current cold outbreak that brought lake effect snow to the Sault and snow to Texas is about to get a reinforcement of even colder air.  Monday night will see another blast or arctic air move into the region that will cause our daytime highs to drop into the minus teens, or overnight lows into the minus twenties and bring windchills in the minus 20s.

Once the cold air arrives, we should see snowfall taper off to only a few flurries.  This colder than normal airmass remains in place for all of this week and into the coming weekend.

Snow moves in by noon on Monday and continues into the evening with accumulations near 5-10cm. Temperatures climb to near -4C in the afternoon but then a cold northerly wind develops and quickly drop temperatures overnight.

Tuesday will be frigid with morning lows near -20C and daytime highs in the minus teens. A northerly breeze will cause windchill values below -20C all day despite the odd sunny break.

Wednesday will remain colder than normal with the risk of the odd flurry along with sunny breaks.

The rest of this week continues with temperatures well below normal daytime highs of -2C.  Friday will see temperatures climb to -6C with a chance of some light snow.  The mercury drops back down for the weekend.
