Early this week we will see a frigid arctic airmass move into the Great Lakes region to bring a little more snow and temperatures 10-15 degrees below seasonal values for this time of year. The coldest weather arrives midweek with potential windchills near -20°C on Wednesday. Warmer air starts to move in on a south wind by the end of the week that could bring rain heading into the weekend.
Skies will be cloudy on Monday with 1-3 cm of snow ending in the early this afternoon. Colder air moves into the region as the maximum temperature struggles to reach -4°C.
Cool temperatures continue for Tuesday with daytime highs near -6°C. Partly cloudy skies give way to another 1-3 cm of snow in the evening.
A mix of sun and clouds arrive on Wednesday with frigid temperatures near -10°C at the warmest time of the day. Windchill values will be even colder.
Thursday will bring partly cloudy skies and a southerly wind that will begin to push temperature up towards the freezing mark.
Friday will finally bring temperatures above freezing during the day with a chance of rain in the evening. Daytime highs should remain above freezing for the coming weekend.
