Workweek Outlook: February ends longer and colder than normal

We are coming in right where the climatological normal says we should be
weather_weekday_outlook

With a warm start to the month and the pleasant spring-like heat this weekend, it may seem like we've had a warmer than normal February. When you mix in all the cold weather in the middle of the month, and the last remaining days (including an extra one with this being a leap year!), we are coming in right where the climatological normal says we should be.

Even precipitation is almost right on as we are on track with close to 50 cm by the end of this month. The only blip would be the lack of any rainfall for all of February, whereas we usually see a few millimetres.

Monday will be partly to mostly cloudy with northwesterly winds, but we should still see temperatures reach +3°C in the afternoon.

A mix of sun and cloud continues into Tuesday with daytime highs just above the freezing mark.

Colder air returns to the region on Wednesday, and then our best chance of snow this week begins late Wednesday night into Thursday. The current forecasted snow amounts are 2-5 cm by late Thursday.

Much colder than normal air continues into Friday and the weekend with daytime highs below -10°C.
