Workweek Outlook: Dodgy cold-core low ends the month

A maturing low-pressure system will move across the Superior Region early this week and turn into an upper-cold-core low. These weather features typically bring widespread showers and colder weather.

Their path, location, and duration over a region can often be tough to predict. I will try to dissect what impact this system will have on the weather for our coming week, but no promises.

Both Monday and Tuesday will see this evolving upper low swing across the Sault region to bring widespread overcast skies and showers. Temperatures will fall into the lower to mid teens for the start of this week.

By Wednesday I suspect the cold core low will move southeast towards Ohio.

This system should just be far enough south to allow for sunny skies over the region and temperatures to climb. If that plays out then, temperatures should rise well above normal towards +20C.

By Friday this system may move further north into lower Michigan. This would push the clouds and showers back into the Sault region.

If the cold core low remains stationary or moves further east, then we could see Friday's forecast remain sunny.
