The warm soggy weather that starts the week will come to an end by mid-week as much colder air floods into the region.

The Sault region will then settle into a bitter cold snap for the rest of the week and the coming Family Day Weekend.

Monday will be drizzly with scattered wet flurries as temperatures hover around the freezing mark.

Winds will gradually sneak around to the north and set the stage for colder air to begin moving into the region.

Tuesday brings more scattered flurries with temperatures a few degrees below freezing.

Gusty north winds will drive windchills down to near -10°C.

The cold air moves in Wednesday with daytime highs in the minus teens and morning lows much colder.

The below normal temperatures continue for the end of the week and the coming weekend.
