Workweek Outlook: Above seasonal temperatures bring cloudy skies

The good news is that this weather pattern will also bring quiet weather devoid of any storm systems

The second week of December usually brings daytime high temperatures a couple of degrees below freezing for the Sault region. In the days ahead we are likely to spend most of our time at or just above the freezing mark. A little bit of additional heat will be just enough to help melt some of our existing snowpack and contribute additional moisture in the air.

So in the days ahead, this means we will see a little more cloud cover than sunshine. The good news is that this weather pattern will also bring quiet weather devoid of any storm systems. So other than the odd flurry or brief drizzle, this workweek will bring calm weather.

Monday will be overcast with daytime highs near 0°C with a weak south wind. The chance of isolated flurries and patchy freezing drizzle continues all day.

Tuesday's temperatures will climb a bit above freezing with flurries in the early morning followed by a mix of sun and cloud later in the day.

Wednesday and Thursday will be cloudy as temperatures reach -1°C one day, and 2°C the next. There is a chance of scattered flurries Thursday afternoon.

Friday should see some brief sunshine with temperatures a couple of degrees above freezing. There is some uncertainty in the weather for this upcoming weekend. Stay tuned as we ride a fine line between a potential storm and quiet weather on Saturday.
