Workweek Outlook: A fitting goodbye to the spring of 2017

Temperatures this spring have on average been lower than the 30-year average

The Spring of 2017 will end just after midnight this Tuesday night but not without one last gasp. The next couple days will see cooler than normal temperatures before we formally start summer.

This seems only fitting since except for a brief warm run in April, the temperatures this spring have on average been lower than the 30-year average.

Rainfall occurred on 56 days this spring to make some of us feel like we were living on the west coast and snow kept falling right up to the last day of April. The good news is that summer will start out on a positive note with sunshine and seasonal temperatures.

Monday morning will start out with clouds that will slowly clear out in the afternoon to bring sunshine by the evening. Cooler than normal temperatures settle in today and only reach the upper teens.

Tuesday will see partly cloudy skies during the morning hours that will become overcast in the afternoon. Daytime highs will only reach the mid-teens with a brisk westerly wind. The slight chance of a shower arrives in the evening.

Wednesday should be mainly sunny with seasonal temperatures back in the low 20s.

Thursday will see the best chance of rain this week with sunshine returning on Friday.
