If you have plans to drive on Highway 17 between the Sault and Elliot Lake tonight or early tomorrow, be cautious.

Environment Canada has issued a winter weather travel advisory for Sault Ste. Marie - St. Joseph Island and Elliot Lake - Ranger Lake.

The advisory states heavy snow is expected overnight into Wednesday morning, the heaviest snowfall being between 6 a.m. and 10 a.m. on Wednesday. Total amounts of 10 to 15 cm are possible by midday Wednesday.

Sections of Highway 17, Highway 129, and Highway 108 between the Sault and Elliot Lake may be impacted by accumulating snow, causing poor driving conditions and reduced visibility.
