The following City facilities will be closed during the Easter holiday period – Good Friday, April 19 through Easter Monday, April 22:

  • Cemetery office
  • City Landfill and Household Hazardous Waste Depot
  • Civic Centre – 99 Foster Drive
  • GFL Memorial Gardens administration office
  • Public Works and Engineering office – 128 Sackville Road. For 24-hour emergency service requests, call 705-759-5201.
  •  Sault Transit main office
  •  Seniors Drop In Centre and the Northern Community Centre Seniors 55+

Garbage and recycling collection – There will be no garbage or recycling pickup on Good Friday, April 19. Friday’s collection will be picked up on Saturday, April 20. There will also be no collection Monday, April 22. Collection for the week of April 21 to April 27 will be one day late. Garbage and recyclables must be placed curbside by 7:30 a.m. to ensure pickup.

Ermatinger-Clergue National Historic Site – Closed Good Friday, April 19, Easter Sunday, April 21 and Easter Monday, April 22. Open 9:30 a.m. – 4:30 p.m., Saturday, April 20.

GFL Memorial Gardens Box Office – Closed Good Friday, April 19, Easter Sunday, April 21 and Easter Monday, April 22. Open Saturday, April 20, regular business hours.

GFL Memorial Gardens Ice Surface – Closed Good Friday, April 19 and closed Easter Sunday, April 21 with the exception of previously scheduled events. Open for scheduled events Saturday, April 20 and Monday, April 22.

John Rhodes Arenas: Good Friday, April 19 – John Rhodes 2 open 1–3 p.m. for Public Skate. Regular user fees will apply. Please enter through Pool side. Saturday, April 20 – Open for scheduled events Easter Sunday, April 21 – Closed Easter Monday, April 22 – John Rhodes 2 open 1–3 p.m. for Public Skate. Regular user fees will apply. Please enter through Pool side. Open for scheduled events.

McMeeken Arena and Northern Community Centre – Closed Good Friday, April 19 and Easter Sunday, April 21. Open for scheduled events Saturday, April 20 and Easter Monday, April 22.

Northern Community Centre – Walking is cancelled on Good Friday, April 19 and Easter Monday, April 22.

John Rhodes Community Centre Pool – Open Good Friday, April 19 and Easter Sunday, April 21 for lane swim/parent and child swim 11:15 a.m. – 1 p.m., and Public Swim 1 – 3 p.m. Open Saturday, April 20 and Easter Monday, April 22 for regular scheduled programming. Public Libraries – The James L. McIntyre Centennial Library and Korah Branch Library are closed Good Friday, April 19, Easter Sunday, April 21 and Easter Monday, April 22. Both libraries are open Saturday, April 20 as follows: James L. McIntyre Centennial Library open 9 a.m. – 5 p.m. and Korah Branch Library 10 a.m. – 5 p.m.

Transit Services – Regular transit and Parabus will not operate Good Friday, April 19. Regular weekend service for transit and Parabus runs Saturday, April 20 and Easter Sunday, April 21. Regular weekday service resumes Easter Monday, April 22. For transit information call 705-759-5438.

Regular Social Services operations will resume on Tuesday, April 23, 2019.
