What's open and closed on Victoria Day

With Victoria Day approaching, a number of city facilities will be closed while some services will be interrupted as a result of the holiday.

Following is a full list of affected facilities and services:

Administrative offices:

• The cemetery office, GFL Memorial Gardens, Ronald A. Irwin Civic Centre, Sault Transit main office, Fire Services Administration office, Public Works and Engineering Services office and the public libraries will be closed.  

Recreation: 

• The GFL Memorial Gardens, McMeeken Centre, the Northern Community Centre, Bay Street Active Living Centre 55+ and the Ermatinger Clergue National Historic Site will be closed.   
• The John Rhodes pool is open Monday, May 23 from 11:15 a.m. to 1 p.m. for parent and child/lane swim and from 1:15 p.m. to 3 p.m. for public swim. 
• Outdoor recreational amenities, including baseball diamonds, soccer fields, disc golf locations, tennis courts, pickleball courts and skate parks will be open. 
• Outdoor sports facilities, outdoor fitness equipment, playgrounds and outdoor picnic sites will be open.  
• Parks and recreational areas including trails are open. 
• Off-leash dog parks, park benches, outdoor playgrounds, outdoor play structures and play equipment are open.  
• Pointe Des Chenes day park will be open. 
• Bike rentals will be available at the Bondar Marina during regular operating hours. 

Garbage and recycling will also be one day later than scheduled throughout the week with no collection on Monday and the landfill will be closed on Monday and reopen on Tuesday morning at 8:30 a.m.

Marine facilities in the city will be opening beginning on Friday. Hours for each of the marinas is as follows:

• Bellevue Marina: open May 20 to June 30. Monday to Thursday from noon. to 7 p.m., Friday to Sunday 11 a.m. to 7 p.m., July 1 to Sept. 5 from Monday to Thursday (11 a.m. to 7 p.m.) and Friday to Sunday (10 a.m. to 8 p.m.)
• Bondar Marina: open May 24 to June 30 from Monday to Sunday (11 a.m. to 7 p.m.), July 1 to Sept. 5 from Monday to Thursday (11 a.m. to 7 p.m.) and Friday to Sunday (10 a.m. to 8 p.m.)
