Gino Finateri, 56, has been charged with keeping a prohibited 'morning star' at his residence in the 600 block of Farwell Terrace.

The medieval weapon (similar to the one shown in our image) is known for sometimes causing as much damage to inexperienced users as to its intended victims.

It was discovered during a search of Finateri's place by drug enforcement officers.

Finateri was also charged with three counts of unsafe storage of a firearm, related to a rifle, shotgun, and ammunition also found in the residence.

Police report that about half a pound of marijuana (street value $5,675) was found on the premises.

Mario Finateri was charged with possession of a controlled substance for the purpose of trafficking, pessession of a controlled substance, and various weapons offences.

Charles Street bust

Also yesterday, police executed a drug warrant in the 400 block of Charles Street.

A small chron grow-op was found, together with about two pounds of packaged marijuana.

Total street value was estimated at $23,375.

Facing an assortment of drug-related charges are Mitchell Waite, 18, of Sault Ste. Marie and William Wolbaum, 30, of Victoria, British Columbia.

Police are seeking three other persons in connection with the case.
