Kim Zettler announced Thursday the official launch of the Sault College Foundation, dedicated to supporting the college's activities and programs through donations, grants, sponsorships, endowments and other funding sources.

Zettler (shown), resigned earlier this year as manager of the Downtown Association to assume leadership of the new foundation.

Considered Sault College's designated fund-raising arm, the foundation will administer an alumni association, database and programs to maintain communication with the college's former students and other constituents.

Projects include an alumni benefit package, an alumni card and commemorative bursaries.

Zettler announced details of three initial fund-raising events:

Taste of Sault Ste. Marie

Tickets for this gastronomical and oenological celebration sold out in less than three weeks.

It takes place this Saturday, September 13, when eight groups of 45 people will tour nine local dining establishments, all the while seeking to avoid SooToday.com's loutish, party-crashing paparazzo.

The Vagina Monologues

This presentation on February 13, 2004 at Algoma's Water Tower Inn, will benefit the college's nursing programs.

Savour the Night

This appetizer challenge event on February 27, 2004, will feature what organizers describe as a CHAIRity auction.
