When police arrived minutes after the incident, they found a man who identified himself as the driver working quietly on the single-axled pickup in the parking lot of Deresti Motors

City Police are investigating a Monday-night incident in which a pickup truck snapped an axle on Wellington Street West. Eyewitnesses tell SooToday they saw the vehicle turning doughnuts in the middle of  the intersection of Wellington and Beverley.

It then broke an axle and proceeded down Wellington to Huron with sparks flying from its dragging rear bumper, they said. The vehicle ended up in the parking lot at Deresti Motors with one wheel careened to each side of Wellington Street. When police arrived minutes after the incident, they found a man who identified himself as the driver working quietly on the pickup.
