Over a week ago daily maximum temperatures climbed above the freezing mark and ushered in our January thaw. This warmer than normal trend is bringing temperatures 5-10 degrees above normal values for this time of year.

The warm trend looks to continue through the weekend before the slide begins back to more winter-like weather next week.

Friday will see thick fog in the morning give way to cloudy skies for the rest of the day. Temperatures will be several degrees above freezing again with scattered showers arriving in the evening and overnight.

The January thaw continues into the weekend as daytime highs climb several degrees above freezing each day. A 50/50 chance of isolated showers remains in place for both Saturday and Sunday.

Early next week will be slightly cooler with a chance of flurries before heavier snow arrives Wednesday to usher in near-normal temperatures.
