April winds down this weekend and May begins with very little weather fanfare.

April will go into the books with temperatures about 2.5 degrees below normal on average with higher than normal snowfall.

That would make this the fourth consecutive year that April was colder than the climatological average in Sault Ste. Marie.

Looking forward into May it appears that no extreme weather events are on tap for the start of the month.

Temperatures will be near normal in the mid-teens with only two out of the next 10 days showing a chance of showers.

Friday will see a mix of sun and cloud with near seasonal temperatures in the low teens.

Saturday and Sunday will both bring partly cloudy skies with sunny breaks. Daytime highs will be a little warmer with high temperatures in the mid-teens.

The next chance of any precipitation holds off until Tuesday.
