Normal temperatures for this time of October usually see daytime highs near 11°C and morning lows near 2°C. Both days this weekend will be at least 5-8 degrees colder than those normals and well shy of this weekend in 1947 when temperatures were over 20°C! We can be thankful that only a handful of flurries will fall in the days ahead because in 1997 we counted over 20cm of snow on this weekend. More seasonal weather does return by the start of next week.
We might see a glimpse of some morning sun on Friday before rain moves into the region around noon and continues until later in the evening. Temperatures will climb to near 12°C with gusty southwest winds becoming northwest after sunset.
Saturday will see colder air rush back into the region and change any precipitation to a risk of snow. Daytime high temperatures will be near 4°C as strong northwest winds bring the chance of scattered squalls early in the day.
Sunday will remain chilly with mostly cloudy skies, with the chance of flurries and daytime highs remaining near 4°C.
