A disturbance aloft will move into the central Great Lakes region late Friday and Saturday.  These types of system usually bring scattered precipitation and are notoriously unpredictable. The best chance for the patchy rain will be from late Friday night into late Saturday night.  There may even be the odd rumble of thunder embedded in this rainfall.

This system spins its way south of the Great Lakes on Sunday, and this should bring to an end any risk of rain for the end of the weekend.  Throughout the weekend temperatures will remain in the upper 20s which is several degrees above seasonal averages for late July.

Friday will start out partly cloudy with increasing clouds later in the day. A chance of showers and thunderstorms arrives after midnight and continues overnight. Daytime highs will be near 28°C with gusty east winds.

Saturday will be cloudy with showers and the risk of a thunderstorm on and off through the day.   Winds will remain out of the east with temperatures in the upper 20s. There may be periodic breaks in the clouds, but for the most part, clouds will win the day.

Sunday will be partly cloudy with the risk of an isolated storm in the afternoon.  Daytime highs should climb to near 29°C with a northeast wind.

Sunshine and warm weather arrives for the start of next week.
