Weekday Outlook: Stuck in a weather rut

You have to go back to the first week of May to find three consecutive days without rain

If you think it feels like we are stuck in a weather-rut, then you would be right. The pattern of brief warming, followed by rain and storms, followed by cool and showery and then back to brief warming has played out over and over this month.

I had to go all the way back to the first week of May to find three consecutive days without any rain. This coming week will not be any different as June finishes much as it began.

Morning clouds will give way to widespread rain before noon on Monday. The rain will continue all day and taper off in the evening before sunset with 8-12mm of accumulation. Daytime highs will be in the mid-teens.

Tuesday should see a mix of sun and cloud with a light westerly breeze. Temperatures will climb but will remain a couple of degrees below normal values in the low 20s.

Wednesday will likely start out dry, but rain and possible storms arrive later in the day. A southerly breeze will push temperatures back into the low 20s.

Thursday will be overcast with scattered showers as slightly cooler air moves back into the region.

Friday should see more summer-like weather move back into the region.
