Weather prompts area closures and cancellations (updated 4:45 p.m.)

Due to area weather warnings issued by Environment Canada, the following cancellations and closures have been announced. This list will be updated as more information becomes available. If you have a closure or cancellation to announce, please send an email to [email protected].

Wednesday night prayer service is cancelled tonight at Destiny Christian Centre

Algoma Conservatory of Music is closed for all classes after 3:30 p.m. due to the winter storm - Wednesday Nov. 27

Algoma Bicycle Company will be closing at 4 p.m. today due to weather.

Always Cleaner Maid Service will be closed today

The Wednesday night meeting of Al-Anon scheduled for 8 pm at Emmaus Anglican Church is cancelled for this evening due to weather.

The Music Readiness Group Classes at Algoma Conservatory of Music are cancelled this evening.

Long and McQuade Lesson Centre is cancelling lessons as of 4 p.m.

The store will remain open until 9 p.m.

Outspoken Brewery will be closing at 4 p.m. today due to weather.

14th Sault Ste Marie Guides that meet at Riverview public school is cancelled for tonight due to weather conditions.

Due to the weather all programming at the Sault Ste. Marie YMCA is cancelled. The Play Centre is closed as well. The facility will remain open unless otherwise notified.

The Algoma Toastmasters Club meeting at the John Rhodes Centre will be cancelled tonight due to the weather.

Case's Music will close as of 4 p.m. today. All lessons and classes are cancelled.

Sault Amateur Soccer Association (SASA) has cancelled its meetings tonight due to the weather and hazardous driving conditions.

OPSEU Local 612 Fulltime Unit Meeting (Sault College), scheduled for tonight at 5:30 p.m., has been cancelled due to weather conditions. The meeting will be rescheduled in January of the new year 2020.

Mrs B’s Pizza on Great Northern Road will close at 3 p.m. today because of poor driving conditions. Will reopen Thursday at 11 a.m.

Algoma Kendo Club is cancelling class tonight at the GLC.

Be advised that all four of the Municipality of Huron Shores’ Waste Disposal Sites will be closed today due to the winter storm. Huron Shores residents and the travelling public are strongly urged to stay off the roads today due to the extremely hazardous driving conditions. The Waste Disposal Sites will re-open on Saturday from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m., weather permitting.

Hard Wok Cafe will be closing due to weather and will be reopening for normal business hours tomorrow.
