  • Sault Ste. Marie - St. Joseph Island

Winter Weather Travel Advisory in effect for tonight and Wednesday.

Cold westerly flow over the relatively warm waters of Lake Superior is expected to produce isolated snow squalls beginning tonight. The snow squall bands are expected to temporarily move over the region tonight and possibly on Wednesday and Wednesday night.

Locally heavy snowfall accumulations are possible along with reduced visibilities at times. Falling temperatures through the night may also cause roads to become icy or slippery. Prepare for hazardous driving conditions at times.

Snow squall warning in effect for:

  • Agawa - Lake Superior Park
  • Searchmont - Montreal River Harbour - Batchawana Bay

Snow squalls are forecast to continue tonight and will persist through Wednesday.

The bands are expected to intensify tonight and continue through the day on Wednesday. Conditions should improve gradually Wednesday night as the squalls weaken and move southward towards the international border.

Locally heavy snowfall accumulations up to 15 cm per 12 hour period are likely with the snow squalls.

Prepare for quickly changing and deteriorating travel conditions. Visibility may be suddenly reduced at times in heavy snow.
