We give up: it's your turn to write the news

Where were you when the lights went out? Who were you with? What did you do? Do tell all. SooToday.

Where were you when the lights went out?

Who were you with?

What did you do?

Do tell all.

SooToday.com is currently assembling Tales from the Dark Side, a collection of reader-submitted first-person descriptions of their experiences in the Great Blackout of 2003.

All submissions should be E-mailed (as plain text or Microsoft Word attachments) to [email protected] before 9:30 p.m. tonight (Friday).

Name of the writer and both daytime and evening phone numbers are required so we can properly credit your authorship.

SooToday.com will publish the best of the lot, as time permits, tonight and over the weekend.

NOTE FROM ANAL-RETENTIVE SOOTODAY.COM LEGAL-PERSON: By submitting an article for Tales from the Dark Side, you expressly grant SooToday.com the right to post it on this website for no consideration other than any fame or fortune that might accrue to you as a result of becoming a published SooToday.com writer-person.

IMPORTANT CODICIL FROM ANAL-RETENTIVE SOOTODAY.COM LEGAL-PERSON: In the event that everyone's lying to us and they shut off the power at 3 p.m., 4 p.m., 5 p.m. or 6 p.m. (depending on the rumour of your preferring), the Tales from the Dark Side deadline will be extended until two hours after power is restored. E-mail submissions only. Articles written in soft pencil on parchment stained with red candlewax are sublimely romantic but unfortunately ineligible.

NOTE FROM ANAL-RETENTIVE SOOTODAY.COM EDITOR-PERSON: The photo above shows the Robert Bondar Building, containing most of the Sault's provincial government offices, around 11:30 last night. It was almost the only illuminated building downtown. We're advised that it has its own generator.
