NEWS RELEASE

GREAT LAKES POWER

*************************
Public Notice

Great Lakes Power Transmission is proud of its long history as a transmitter of electricity and is committed to reliable service, employee and public safety, environmental responsibility and enhancing the quality of life in the communities in which it serves.

In order to ensure the continued safety and reliability of our transmission network, we must engage in regular Vegetation Management activities along the transmission corridors.

Great Lakes Power Transmission is planning to complete line-clearing and brush-control activities along the transmission corridor between Sault Ste. Marie, ON and Wharncliffe, ON throughout 2014.

In order to ensure the safety of our workers and the community, we would like to remind local residents and recreational users of the following precautions:

  • Be aware of work crews and work equipment on the right of way
  • Respect designated work zones and wait for crews to ensure safe passage through the work zone before proceeding
  • Stay on designated trails as those created by/for work crews are not intended for recreational use

We thank you for your cooperation and commitment to safety.
