Sault Ste. Marie, ON – Join the Early Detection and Rapid Response Network (EDRR) Ontario for a free workshop on aquatic invasive species. The EDRR Network, funded through the Ontario Trillium Foundation, aims to train and equip volunteers with the skills and resources needed to better detect and reduce invasive species in Ontario, one community at a time.

On August 23, from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. at 83 Huron Street, an expert panel of speakers from Ontario Invading Species Awareness Program, the Invasive Species Centre, the Great Lakes Fishery Commission and Three Shores CISMA will be presenting and sharing knowledge on topics ranging from Asian Carp, European frogbit, aquatic invertebrates, citizen science and much more. Aquatic invasive species that are both already in the Algoma region and those that are threats to Ontario will also be discussed.
