The soccer field house at Elliot Sports Complex has been trashed by vandals, City employees discovered yesterday.

City Police tell us there was plenty of damage to the metal doors and locking mechanisms in the building at the main soccer field on Rossmore Road.

"Also damaged were the porcelain sinks, mirrors, chairs, toilet seats and tanks and the shower faucets and handles," police say in a written release.

City parks staff tell SooToday.com that the damage is believed to have happened over the weekend, and it appears that a sledgehammer was taken to both the doors and to the cinderblock walls of the structure.

The crime remains under investigation.

The building is currently sealed awaiting an inspection by the City's insurer. No damage estimate was available at time of writing, but City staff say it will be in the thousands of dollars.

If you know anything, they're asking you to call either City Police or Crime Stoppers.
