Update on yesterday's Burks Falls crash

Almaguin Highlands OPP is continuing to investigate a motor-vehicle collision, which resulted in traffic delays on Highway 11 near Burks Falls yesterday. At approximately 10:55 yesterday Constable S BELLEMARE of the Almaguin OPP Detachment was merging onto Highway 11 at the South Junction of Burks Falls where the accident occurred.

Also involved was Mr. Gilbert PIGEON 66yrs and his wife Denise Pigeon 64 yrs, both of Oshawa who were travelling south bound on Highway 11 at the time.

All involved were transported to Huntsville Hospital and later released with non-life threatening injuries.

The investigation is continuing and charges are pending.

The province's Special Investigations unit did attend the scene but returned the investigation over to local authorities.
