************************ "Trojan Horse - huge, hollow wooden horse constructed by the Greeks to gain entrance into Troy during the Trojan War." - Encyclopædia Britannica
************************ "Some were for breaking it up then and there. Others would have it dragged to the top of the rock on which the fortress stood, and then thrown down the precipice. While yet others were for letting it remain as an offering and propitiation for the gods." - Homer's account of the Trojan Horse in The Odyssey
************************ The Ontario Health Coalition and the Ontario Council of Hospital Unions brought their Trojan Horse replica to Sault Ste. Marie on Wednesday.
The big wooden structure, displayed at Sault Area Hospital, is being carted to more than 100 locations across Ontario to draw attention to the dangers of public-private hospitals.
The unions consider the P3 hospitals to be a "false gift" and accuse Premier Dalton McGuinty of reneging on a promise to stop them.
The fourteen-foot-high horse made subsequent visits on Wednesday to Wawa and White River and will be in Hornpayne and Hearst today, Marathon, Terrace Bay and Nipigon on Friday. Shown in our photo are Louis Rodrigues of the Ontario Council of Hospital Unions and Tim Thibault of the Canadian Auto Workers union Local 1120.
