Three vehicles collided on Second Line West between Second Avenue and Third Avenue at rush hour today.
Two people were taken away in neck braces and stretchers by Sault Ste. Marie Emergency Medical Services.
The incident involved seven people overall and there were no other injuries reported said Sault Ste. Marie Fire Services Captain Mike Oliverio.
The fire department became aware of the collision because it happened right at the end of the No. 2 fire hall driveway at 4:21 p.m. said Oliverio.
The fire department was on shift change and had the front doors open at the time he said.
Oliverio said fire fighters immediately generated the silent alarm, called paramedics and Sault Ste. Marie Police Service, and blocked three lanes of traffic to keep the area safe for the two people who were injured.
The injured remained in their vehicles until paramedics arrived and the road was open roughly 40 minutes later.
The collision involved a beige Chevrolet 1500 pickup, a white Dodge Ram pickup, and a red GMC SUV, said Oliverio.
