Two men wearing hoodies that covered their faces robbed the Mac’s convenience store at Wellington Street West and Henrietta Avenue Sunday morning, say Police.
“They told the clerk to give them the cash and then one went behind the counter,” said Acting Sergeant Nikki Magnan, who added it was unknown if the men had a weapon on them.
The clerk, feeling threatened, handed over an unknown amount of cash and the men also took cigarettes and scratch tickets, said Magnan.
At 7:34 a.m. the store clerk, who was physically unharmed in the encounter, made a 911 call to police she said.
Once on scene, Police used a canine unit which led them to an address within one city block of the Mac’s Mart. However as of Sunday at 1:30 p.m., no arrests were made, she said.
The culprits were captured on video and police are using that imagery to assist in their investigation.
The men were wearing dark clothing and backpacks and they both had hoodies wrapped around their faces, said Magnan.
The investigation is ongoing.
