At approximately 1:50 p.m. on Dec. 5, 2016, officers with the Sault Ste. Marie Police Service responded to a call regarding two males who had entered locked storage buildings that were located on the property of a downtown business.

The males took a variety of tools, scrap metal and copper piping from the storage buildings. The accused males then placed the items in a cart and left the area on foot pushing the cart with them.

Officers with the Patrol Services Division of the Sault Ste. Marie Police Service responded and located the two accused on Huron Street.

Both males, 36-year-old Derek Roberts of 23 Dufferin Avenue and 58-year-old Marcel Cada of 350 Albert Street West, were arrested and charged with one count of break and enter and one count of possession of stolen property under $5,000.

Mr. Roberts was held in custody and attended bail court on Dec. 6, 2016 while Mr. Cada was released with a court date of Jan. 9, 2017.
