Firefighters have had to extricate two passengers from a black pickup truck. The extent of the injuries is unknown at this time, say police.

The crash, which happened just before 2 p.m., also involved a transport truck, which crashed into a utility pole and a telephone pole. PUC crews are on scene as well.

Police and fire crews have instructed onlookers to stand well back.

Traffic is closed in both directions on Trunk Road as of 2:20 p.m., however a detour is available using Fournier and Dacey Road.
