Two charged in Albert Street break and enter investigation

Significant damage caused as copper pipe removed from vacant residence on Albert Street East

On Jan. 3, 2019, officers with the Patrol Services Division of The Sault Ste. Marie Police Service arrested 53-year-old Ronald Masse of Wellington Street West and 29-year-old Jason Pine of Highway 17 East for break and enter.

It is alleged that at 9:30 a.m., the males entered a vacant residence in the 0-100 block of Albert Street East. Once inside, the accused males caused significant damage to the residence, removing copper pipes from the walls. Police attended and located both males inside of the residence along with various break-in tools.

They were both taken into custody and charged with:

  • One count of break and enter,
  • One count of mischief over $5,000; and,
  • One count of possession of break in tools.

Mr. Masse was also charged with one count of breach of probation. They were both held for bail court.
