Truck, train collide in Cobalt, one confirmed dead

********************** Pickup vs. train collision in North Cobalt

(Haileybury, ON) - OPP, Fire and Ambulance responded to a collision at the rail crossing at Niven Avenue in North Cobalt.

One person in the pickup truck has now been confirmed as deceased.

OPP Technical Traffic Collision Investigators are on scene, as well as OPP Identification Unit and members of Temiskaming OPP Detachment.

It is anticipated that the railway will continue to be closed for several hours while the investigation is completed.
