Truck ends up in highway median, two sent to hospital (update)

April 29 update

LAIRD TOWNSHIP -  On April 28, 2016 at 7 a.m. Sault Ste. Marie Ontario Provincial Police (OPP), Anishinabek Police Service, Tarbutt Fire Dept. and Echo Bay Fire responded to a single motor vehicle collision on Highway 17, east of Town Line Road.

A delivery truck traveling westbound on Highway 17 left the roadway and ended up in the medium.

The male driver and passenger were transported to hospital by Emergency Medical Services (EMS) with non-life threatening injuries.

There was substantial damage to the vehicle.

OPP Technical Traffic Collision Investigators have determined that a blown tire on the vehicle caused the collision. There were no other vehicles involved in this incident.
