The fifth of 12 draws for the 2016 Sault North Rotary Club, was held Wednesday, May 4, at Algoma’s Water Tower Inn.
On the first Wednesday of each month, there is a draw for a trip for two as well as 2 secondary prizes of $150 each
After each prize is won, the name goes back into the drum for the next draw.
Grand Prize for May 4, 2016: ARCTIC GOLF IN ICELAND – The Land of The Midnight Sun
4 nights – 5 days including AC flights, accommodation, golf, golf club rentals, breakfast daily and a car for two
1st Prize – Carolyn O’Connor ticket # 33
2nd Prize $150 - Sylvana and Pat Carlsascio ticket # 411
3rd Prize $150 – Richard and Lila Sutton ticket # 157
Next Draw – June 1, 2016: Luxury Bahia Principe Ambar in Punta Cana
The principal focus of the Rotary Club of Sault Ste. Marie North is youth education and development and the proceeds from the ticket sales assist with our clubs ongoing support to some of the following organization in our community:
- Sault North Rotary’s Youth Leadership Awareness Conference which involves over 50 high school students from each of the high schools in the Algoma region to participate in a hands on interactive learning environment. It embraces sports and motivational activities to help youth develop leadership skills to take back to their respective schools
- Annually we support Send A Kid to Camp under the auspices of Big Brothers/Big Sisters to meet specific children’s needs.
- Bursaries and Scholarships at Algoma University and Sault College
- Algoma Fall Festival Education Program
- Sponsorship of various sports teams
- Children’s Mental Health Program at Algoma Family Services
