June 4 will be a day to raise awareness.

That's when the first "Tony Martin's Walk for Change" will be held in support of the Sault Ste. Marie Soup Kitchen.

Following is a release with additional details on the first-ever event:

The Sault Ste. Marie Soup Kitchen Community Centre will be holding the first Tony Martin’s Walk for Change” Walk-a-Thon” on Sunday June 4 at 10 a.m.

Tony Martin was a founding father of the Sault Ste. Marie Soup Kitchen Community Centre and a champion for the poor through out his year in both federal and provincial politics. Participants will walk for change to raise awareness of so many struggling with food insecurity and homelessness and raise much needed funds to help us help others.

Your pledge package can be picked up at the Soup Kitchen at 172 James St. If you can’t make the walk please consider pledging or help sponsor the event online.

For more information on the walk, call 705-942-2694 or email [email protected]
