******************* This weekend the Sault Ste Marie Police RIDE Program was operating.

Here are the stats for the program:

- 442 vehicles were stopped - 13 roadside tests performed - four 12-hour suspensions issued - one impaired driver arrested. - seven provincial notices issued - one arrest for a bench warrant.

********************** On Saturday December 18 at approximately 10:50 p.m. officers working the RIDE Program on Goulais Avenue stopped a vehicle and requested that the driver take a roadside test.

The driver subsequently took the test and registered a fail.

As a result, 45-year-old Timothy Sloss, of 324 Cathcart Street was arrested for impaired driving.

He will be appearing in court on Monday, January 23 at 9 a.m.
